They also partner with organizations around the world, including the Dakota Zoo, spreading awareness and raising vital resources to protect endangered snow leopards in the wild.
The Association of Zoos and Aquariums administers a rigorous accreditation program, which ensures that accredited zoos meet exacting standards for animal care, zoo operations, visitor and staff safety and a host of other areas. In addition to maintaining the highest standards in zoo operations, the AZA and its member zoos are global leaders in conservation, education, scientific research, and endangered species breeding through the Species Survival Plan Programs.
