Dakota Zoo Volunteers

This program is comprised of men and women ages 18 and up who assist with educational programs, visitors, and events at the Zoo.

Activities include:

  • Educate Zoo visitors about a variety of animals and nature.

  • Develop and present programs and events which raise funds for the educational programs.

  • Assist with events and camps.

  • Assist with training Junior Docents during animal close-ups.

  • And much, much more!

Being a volunteer is simple, fun, and the hours are flexible.  Volunteers must have a current Dakota Zoo Membership to participate.

The Zoo relies heavily on the volunteer efforts of many generous people.

For more information or if you are interested in becoming a Volunteer, please contact our Education/Volunteer Coordinator at the Dakota Zoo at (701) 223-7543 ext. 3 or email at educate@dakotazoo.org.

*The Dakota Zoo will perform backgound checks on all volunteers.  Disclosure of a criminal record will not necessarily disqualify you from volunteering at the Zoo.  Failure to disclose such information wll result in disqualification of your application or termination of your volunteer service.
