Redneck Wallaby
Wallabies get their name from the native Australian word “woloba.” The genus word “macropus” is Greek which refers to their long, powerful hind legs. The favorite habitat of the wallaby is brush, where they browse on a variety of plant materials. Like all members of the kangaroo family, female wallabies have pouches and are called marsupials. The young are called “joeys” and live in the pouch for about 5 months.
