  • The Dakota Zoo is handicap accessible. Wheelchairs are available in limited numbers at the admissions window.

  • Subject to USDA regulations, NO OUTSIDE ANIMAL FOOD MAY BE BROUGHT INTO THE ZOO -- THIS INCLUDES CORN! For animal safety, plastic bags and straws are also prohibited from the zoo grounds.

  • Strollers are available for rent at the Concession Stand.

  • No Pets are permitted on the zoo grounds. Bona fide sevice animals for persons with disabilities are permitted. Exotic species, therapy or emotional-support animals are not permitted at Dakota Zoo. Guests that have service animals are asked to alert the staff at the admissions window that they are here with a service animal.

  • The Dakota Zoo does not accept personal checks. We do accept credit and debit cards as well as cash. For your convenience an ATM is located in the Antler Trading Post.

  • The Dakota Zoo is a non-smoking facility. There is no smoking allowed on Zoo grounds.

  • Animals in the barnyard area, prairie dog town, and the waterfowl ponds may be fed food pellets from our feeders only. Other Zoo animals do not eat food pellets, so please refrain from throwing pellets into their exhibits.

  • The Dakota Zoo accepts Visa, Master Card, Discover and American Express.

  • Snacks, Beverages and train tickets are available in the Concession Stand.

  • Ice Cream products are available in the Cass Clay Ice Cream Parlor.

  • Enjoy a refreshing Coca-Cola product at vending machines located throughout the zoo grounds.

  • Water Fountains are located near the Concession Stand, in the African Penguin building, and in the Bismarck Tribune Discovery Center.

  • Restrooms are located in the Bismarck Tribune Discovery Center, African Penguin building, and the Coke Pavilion. All Restrooms are equipped with changing tables.

  • Bike Racks are located near the main entrance.

  • Trains are both handicap accessible.

  • Smile for the Camera

    During your visit to the Dakota Zoo you might be photographed, videotaped or filmed. Your paid admission to the Zoo serves as permission for use of your image by Dakota Zoological Society. The commercial use of photographs, video and film you take during your visit is prohibited without written consent of Dakota Zoological Society.
