Birthdays at the Zoo
Imagine combining the fun and festivity of a birthday party with all the excitement of a trip to the Zoo. That’s what happens when you celebrate your birthday at the Zoo!
Make your party or meeting memorable at Dakota Zoo!
The 900 square foot meeting room located inside the Bismarck Tribune Discovery Center is a perfect place for smaller groups to gather for meetings or parties. The room seats 40 people "theater style" or up to 40 with tables and chairs. The room features unique wildlife décor with windows overlooking the Zoo’s waterfowl area.
The Bismarck Tribune Discovery Center offers a hands-on learning environment complete with live animal and educational displays, aquariums, computers and graphics designed to educate visitors about the natural world. A large outdoor playground area is located just steps from the Discovery Center’s doors.
The room rents for $25 per hour. Admission is free to Dakota Zoo members, and a reduced admission fee will be charged to non-members. The Zoo admissions staff can keep a running total of non-member guests if you would like to pick up the tab for your guests. If you wish to do so, you may bring your own food, treats, decorations and paper products. No balloons, plastic bags or food for the animals is allowed on Zoo grounds due to the danger they pose to our animals.
By request, the meeting room can be equipped with a sound system, video projector, television/DVD player, slide projector, overhead projector, a large projection screen, and internet access.
By request, a special animal presentation can be added to your party reservation featuring one of our ambassador animals! The presentation is about 15 minutes in length and features a live animal and their zookeeper friend. The type of animal available for your presentation will vary depending upon the season and other factors. Typical animal ambassadors for this presentation include rabbit, domestic ferret, red-tail boa ball python or kestrel.
The fee for an animal presentation is $25.00 and advance registration is required.
Reservations are accepted on a first-come first-serve basis and a deposit is required to hold your reservation. To schedule your party or meeting, Room Request form, call 701-223-7543 or via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org
