Wild Happenings
Come learn about your favorite Dakota Zoo animals by attending a Wild Happening! During these presentations, zookeepers and some of your favorite animals invite you to learn in a fun and interactive way. Whether you get to witness a live Grizzly Bear training demonstration, an African Penguin feed, or one of our many other presentations, you are sure to leave with a lasting impression.
What to Expect
- Live training demonstrations, interactive meet and greets, or dynamic enrichment sessions.
- Species-specific conservation education and how you can help!
- Interesting and fun information about the animals and the natural world.
Wild Happening Program Schedule
The Wild Happening schedule is posted at the entrance of the zoo each day. The animals and experiences change on a day to day basis. During the winter months, there are two Wild Happening presentations per day. In the summer, there are four daily presentations. Times vary based on keeper and animal availability.
Locations
Wild Happenings will be presented at the habitat of the named species, or in an alternate location that will be noted on the schedule.
Trading Cards
Collect them all! Several of the Wild Happenings have one of a kind, collectable trading cards that show off a specific animal resident here at the zoo. Learn about their unique personality and how you can help their wild relatives.
