• Listed as vulnerable due to habitat loss, poaching, and human disturbances.
• Sichuan takin belong to a family called goat-antelopes.
• They are built for survival in high elevation, mountainous habitat.
• They have short legs and split hooves that help them navigate difficult terrain and a thick coat keeps them insulated during cold weather.
• Takin are herd animals and will migrate in groups of up to 300 in search of food.
• They communicate with one another through roars, bellows, and coughing sounds.
